The Acolytes ministry provides children with a meaningful opportunity to be involved and serve in the Lord’s House as helpers and attendants in the Worship service. Acolyte means follower or attendant. The acolytes duties include lighting and extinguishing the altar candles and in assisting with the offering.
Being an acolyte is a very important part of our service and one that should be respected. The acolyte is bringing in the light of the Lord at the beginning of service and carrying it out to go with us throughout our week until we come together again.
Students attending Sunday school during the 9:00 am service may slip out quietly after lighting the candles and the ushers will extinguish the candles at the end of the service. Please remember to stay for the 10:30 service to relight the candles.
